WATCHING

You have surely seen glassblowers at work on the television. It's magic.
And believe me, it's a thousand times more magic in real life.
It is really worth while going to see the show close up with your class, your family or your friends.

  • At the Château and the Val-Saint-Lambert Crystalworks you will be able to see glassblowers using rods, a big metal tube that they use to blow air into a gather of molten glass… this is where they make vases, stemmed glasses, sculptures, etc.
  • But our speciality is the glassblowing using a blowtorch, the fascinating transformation of a banal tube of glass into Christmas baubles, birds, carafes, cups and miniature glasses, alembics, straws, swizzle sticks. Just by increasing the heat, drawing, pushing, twisting, blowing. You have to admit, you need to be pretty adept and have a lot of expertise to achieve these little miracles.
  • Our glassblowers are ready to confide their professional secrets. Give them the third degree!
